I agree but don’t think @KannonShanmugam hits this nearly hard enough. The Yiddish word for the situation is shanda. Why should people have to stand in line for two days to watch one of the three branches of government?https://twitter.com/KannonShanmugam/status/937365422860656642 …

SCOTUS proceedings should be broadcast live. End of story. The only remotely interesting argument I have heard to the contrary has to do with the Justices’ ability to behave themselves. That is embarrassing in and of itself

@FirstMondaysFM@SCOTUSblog#appellatetwitter I'm truly curious: Are there any even halfway-decent arguments for (i) not having real-time (or at least same-day) audio broadcast and (ii) not having (at least) same-week video? I can't recall seeing any in a very long time.4 replies 0 retweets 6 likes -

BTW there is one more, the “snippet” argument, that snippets will be taken out of context for fans of John Oliver or Sean Hannity or Colbert. I sort of get this but don’t think it is an adequate answer

You will see occasional “snippets” in my articles. In newspaper jargon, we call them “quotations.”
