Whether this is an excuse aside, this is a classic example of something that’s been known for months - that others, primarily Scavino but others, have access to the twitter feed - being treated like a revelationhttps://twitter.com/prchovanec/status/937417266274209799 …

      Maggie Haberman added,

      Patrick Chovanec @prchovanec
If true, who else has unvetted access to the President's Twitter account, to speak on his behalf? That's not trolling, it's a serious question with serious national security implications. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trumps-lawyer-wrote-presidents-sloppy-tweet-flynns-dismissal/story?id=51541650 …

Nonetheless, Scavino works for the government. Dowd does not. Big difference, yes?

No one has said Dowd posted it. They’ve said he wrote it. You can have a different discussion about checks internally to keep things like that from posting.

Oh, sorry, you confused me with your statement that "others, have access to the twitter feed."

I mean, if so, then why wasn't the response to this guy, "No one said Dowd has access to Trump's Twitter account."

Because they constantly hang onto information as if it’s the last scrap of food on a deserted island, even if it could help them to clarify by any logical measure?

This isn’t confusing. You’re assuming “Dowd wrote” means “Dowd put it on Twitter.” Then you’re wondering why a White House that routinely doesn’t adhere to normal standards didn’t make that clear.

Sorry. That all does make sense. I just didn't understand why your response to Patrick wasn't that no one had said Dowd had access to his Twitter. Anyway, understood now, and got it.

Because he seemed to be reacting to idea that other people have access at all. Which isn’t new.

I'm with Chris. It was confusing. But as for how relevant the tweet to who posted it, I think the point missed is - a lie is a lie is a lie. It's not like it was some sort of routine announcement coming from WH staff. It was taking personal responsibility for major incident.

You guys should take a step back and realize how ridiculous it is that you're even having this debate right now on who actually posted an incriminating tweet on the president's account.
