Today, the a senior district court judge weighed in, telling the professor — Steven Calabresi — to "Stop Pulling Imaginary Stuff From His Butt" (and telling the liberals to stop "whining"): https://blog.simplejustice.us/2017/11/29/kopf-steven-calabresi-should-stop-pulling-imaginary-stuff-from-his-butt/ …pic.twitter.com/JiVQpH2iZO

And now, Judge William Pryor, US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit (and Trump's SCOTUS short-list) writes, "Many of Professor Calabresi’s ideas lack common sense."https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/29/opinion/conservatives-expanding-federal-courts.html?action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=opinion-c-col-right-region®ion=opinion-c-col-right-region&WT.nav=opinion-c-col-right-region …

Anyway, basically no one thinks it's a good idea, publicly at least, except the two people who wrote it. ... But, that's not necessarily stopped ideas in 2017, so I thought I should at least acknowledge the discussion.

Pretty telling when a CA11 judge (and respected conservative) pens an op-ed for the New York Times saying "Uh, no."

There can’t be much doubt that a war is going to be waged against the judiciary by Trump and his minions. This is no idle threat. The DoJ can cause an increased case load by changing sentencing guidelines thereby ensuring more people will seek jury trials.

The amount of news that has been published over a Calabresi paper on SSRN is truly insane.
