And, obviously, as with the DOJ move today, this is timed to take place during the Federalist Society convention. During the campaign, the #SCOTUS list was the legal right’s greatest success — and Trump’s way of getting them on board.
This is not a doubling down so much as it is a continued reminder of the point I made last night:https://twitter.com/chrisgeidner/status/931339794256400385 …
Oof. The White House got a bit ahead of itself there — promoting Stras before he’s even had a committee hearing.https://twitter.com/kylecbarry/status/931636015923712000 …
Notably, one of the new additions to the list is from Alabama: Kevin Newsom ... so expect to hear that being used explicitly in the #ALSen race now.
Also David Stras isn’t on the 8th Cir yet - he’s a nominee
*remembers The Pelican Brief and shudders*
I’ve been thinking about that book lots lately.
TBH my heart stopped beating for a minute thinking we had lost one.... *breathes slowly into paper bag*
It also lists Justice Stras as an Eighth Circuit judge. He is still on the MN Supreme Court. I guess Trump assumes he'll be confirmed to the 8th Circuit by the time the next vacancy occurs?
Ahh... the Alabama elections, Roy Moore and conservative voters. They might’ve put Putin on the list and still get conservatives to vote for him/Moore.
Um, you forgot about Kagan's diabetes!
Honestly it reads like a reminder to Alabama voters as to "what's at stake" aka "reasons to vote for the pedophile"
