Also, under the terms of the executive order and Trump's associated memorandum, the travel ban is due to end in 12 days.
And the cases challenging the ban (including whether it's religious discrimination) are at the Supreme Court. Arguments are set for Oct 10.
Anyway, Trump sure sounds like he's still tweeting (albeit slightly coded) about wanting a Muslim ban. While the case is before SCOTUS.
1. Larger 2. Tougher 3. More specific 4. Not politically correct Hard to see what else he could possibly mean — though I'm open to options?
Seems like one of the only ways it's both "larger" AND "more specific" = Muslim ban.
Indeed, that's why I was tweeting it. Follow the full thread.
I did - after I replied :) Thanks for your continually helpful & thoughtful reporting.
No, got it! It just took me time to work through it all for people. I don't want to just start from the ending on something like this.
I'm quite confident he means "specific" to be the opposite of specific - like, he wants to specifically say "we're banning Muslims."
Call me crazy, but there seems to be tension between making the ban "far larger" and making it "more specific."
Unless you mean "Muslim ban."
He doesn't mean "more specific" in the sense of narrowing the net. "Larger" puts it in context. He's called for a ban on Muslims before.
[That was my point. Read the full thread.]
Seem fairly obvious....all Muslims.
Maybe we can finally start talking openly about how "we're too politically correct" means "I want to be comfortable airing my racist views."
he definitely means religious/racial profiling
