Well, someone on the West Coast is gonna have to deal with this. I gotta sleep.
And, as @Kno and others pointed out, this is @ACSOSheriffs most recent follow:pic.twitter.com/7qFOH9OOrS
Which reeeeeally undermines the "accidental retweet" claim — or at least the idea that the person tweeting had not intended to RT it.
That would appear to increase the likelihood of this being the oldest social media fail: The "RT/follow from the wrong account."
Which, in this scenario, still would mean someone with access to their Twitter account likes RTing Richard Spencer and following racists.
Well, we've moved on to phase two: The RT is gone and a poorly worded tweet has replaced it.pic.twitter.com/czG5miWQ3G
OK, I'm ~really~ going to go to sleep now. Third time's a charm.
Any chance somebody w/ access privileges to Sheriff's Department feed accidentally retweeted/followed from there, instead of own account?
(I have, in fact, made that very suggestion further down in the thread.)
@berkeleyside Maybe worth looking into?
indeed, this is some weird sh*t fwiw, i'm imagining there's some kind of scuffle afoot, i.e. a fight over who has control of the acct ????

Someone is going to have an interesting morning.
I am one to believe that most law enforcement agrees with the views of neo-nazis, racists, white nationalists, & white supremacists.
Thank you for alerting the West Coast. I've notified the Bay Area crim justice community about this also. Sleep well.
Uh, guys?
