Anyway, books are great and you should read them. Thank god my little town in northeast Ohio gave me so many teachers who loved literature.

I was a dorky little kid who only started to find my way once speech and debate and drama club came into my life in high school.

But, before then, and during high school, I had so many teachers who saw my love of reading & encouraged it, getting me reading more & more.

And, so important, the public library was right next door to my middle school. I spent so many afternoons there reading everything I could.

It's where I first started reading great plays and actually reading some elements of gay literature.

Oh, another runner up that probably should have been on the original list but I primarily think of as its performance: Angels in America.

No! We were each allowed to keep our favorite one of the seven (I think) books we read for a specific program!
