And yet. Carter could have moved more quickly on trans service. Could have had it fully implemented under Obama.https://twitter.com/NBCPolitics/status/890225333563269120 …

This is backwards and not how the military implements changes.https://twitter.com/chrisgeidner/status/890282045494177792 …
"This was a decision based on what was best for the military." Contra: No, it wasn't, per Politico reporting: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/07/26/trump-transgender-military-ban-behind-the-scenes-240990 …pic.twitter.com/JG4Dcsdi42
@SHSanders45: "This was a decision about military readiness," unit cohesion, and resources within the military.
"I really don't have anything else to add on that topic," Sanders says, threatening to end the briefing if trans service questions continue.
Sanders says there were "extensive discussions" with his national security team. (They've certainly not claimed that previously.)
I'd think leaving 1000s of units up in the air on the status of their trans service members impacts "military readiness" & "unit cohesion."
Can the entire military go on strike or stage a slow-down? Asking for a country because I feel like that's imminent.
No. Not really. If you don't go to work it's dereliction of duty. BUT: brass can order a 'safety stand down' or the like.
Thanks for the info. I feel like the way he's tweeting ... I don't know, but I can't imagine the brass is at all happy with this.
They're probably not.Especially considering his draft history. But it's against the UCMJ to bad mouth the CiC so they can't say so publicly.
Policy is not set by tweet. He's poking wasp's nests w/sticks to get a reaction, to distract from healthcare vote & Mueller's investigation.
we were just discussing this at work and everyone had the same feeling- he pulled the SAME travel ban BS
