This comes literally one week after the GOP-led US House *rejected* an amendment to roll back trans military rights: https://www.buzzfeed.com/dominicholden/congress-transgender-military-vote?utm_term=.xak8RE8mb#.nak0GX08q …pic.twitter.com/UA0na4VCaF

Trump went further than House Republicans even wanted, with little warning, over fear of losing money for his wall.http://www.politico.com/story/2017/07/26/trump-transgender-military-ban-behind-the-scenes-240990 …

Me, this morning: This feels like the travel ban rollout all over again. Me, now: It is (maybe even worse, in a sense).
This is backwards and not how the military implements changes.https://twitter.com/chrisgeidner/status/890282045494177792 …
"This was a decision based on what was best for the military." Contra: No, it wasn't, per Politico reporting: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/07/26/trump-transgender-military-ban-behind-the-scenes-240990 …pic.twitter.com/JG4Dcsdi42
@SHSanders45: "This was a decision about military readiness," unit cohesion, and resources within the military.
"I really don't have anything else to add on that topic," Sanders says, threatening to end the briefing if trans service questions continue.
Sanders says there were "extensive discussions" with his national security team. (They've certainly not claimed that previously.)
I'd think leaving 1000s of units up in the air on the status of their trans service members impacts "military readiness" & "unit cohesion."
Surprising since McCain opposed DADT repeal strongly
That's why I highlighted it.
Yet, McCain still speaks with his party line voting in the Senate.
Don't worry he'll fold like a cheap suit soon enough. Party first.
