Deleting things makes primary research more difficult. Meaning, you have to rely on secondary sources, which are not as accurate.
Also: "It's all out there" is a really bad answer, particularly when the administration has a "fake news" constant attack line.

No it isn't. It's perfectly reasonable to want a fresh start with a new job. Whatever it is he tweeted, it'll be out there anyway.
