Naw. He attempted to avoid a story about sneak deletions by just saying he was doing it. There is nothing to "appreciate" there.

Appreciate it in that it told everyone to screenshot/pull out screenshots they already had? Not good at all but better than how others do.
We already had. And she didn't say, "this is awful but." She wrote simply, "I actually appreciate this, prefer to the sneak mass-delete."
Acting like (1) it's inevitable and (2) not a bad thing.
I read as bad word choice, but I def agree that it shouldn't create any oz of thanks, since, as you say, is obv bad & shouldn't be expected.
