These were stay applications & cert petitions, on which #SCOTUS does not give vote counts. Justices can write if they want, but need not.

Asked why the DOJ statement calls the
#travelban order "unanimous," DOJ spokesperson says, "That's what per curiam means."19 replies 69 retweets 124 likes -

You can dissent from a per curiam decision, so it can't possibly mean that.

So, on the unanimous question on the
#travelban order. There is a statement from Thomas in his concur/dissent that SOMETHING was unanimous:pic.twitter.com/3DGqnCg9xU

I'm not sure if Thomas snuck that in or what, but it's definitely an interesting (and I think definitive?) note.

This question basically asks whether the June 14 presidential memorandum was able to change the effective date of the bans.

There still, of course, would be a related mootness question of: What about 90 days from whenever it goes into effect?

[Note: The "June 14" mootness question was noted in the per curiam order earlier today as being added to the merits briefing.]

Shouldn't work. If the purpose was to improve vetting, not changing the process without the EO makes no sense.
