I don't know if people are still posting/discussing Trump's daily schedule when it comes out, but I did want to note admin's secrecy aims.

Back in the old days, this is what we got from the Obama White House each night (with the schedule below the summary):pic.twitter.com/qEvmbwFHBK

Initially, that's what the Trump White House did, too. See: "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE."pic.twitter.com/CiA4UA3udX

That's like, a middle-ground thing, where we shouldn't publish it, but I guess we can do reporting off of it (or something, it's vague).

Then, when Trump went abroad, they went all the way to "FOR PLANNING PURPOSES/NOT REPORTABLE."pic.twitter.com/RWfcrPlLng

They were abroad, though, so I let it go because I thought it might be related to security precautions.

<unfin> Note: There are times the "NOT REPORTABLE" is acceptable, like, when WH gives press advance notice so we can plan travel.

Like, we got when Obama had a trip, too. When they're not announcing it publicly yet, but they understand press schedules need to be made.

That's not what they're attempting to set as the rule here. This is just taking something that used to be a public document & making it not.

When WHCA Board have asked about this, WH is not bothered by reporting daily guidance but very bothered by further out planning getting out.

You'll notice the "week ahead" doesnt come through official WH channels anymore. Even POTUS weekend plans kept in a closer hold than before.

So when it says "not reportable" does it mean you literally can't report on what's on the schedule?

It's going to be weird to look back at Trump. The private angst in the tweets and anon. leaks vs the attempts to control what is on record.
