4. And, the Marshal has nothing to do w/ any of this. EVEN IF the first 3 things were not so, it would be the clerk informing parties. :-(
This is about this (and, no, I'm not linking to the full article from M*nsch and Taylor):https://twitter.com/chrisgeidner/status/866004691133620225 …
If 50 "journo-lawyers" are gonna have daily snark-filled dick swinging contests with those 2 it's hard to believe this is about "integrity"
I'm not even sure what that means. A horribly ignorant article was posted, people are misinformed by it, so I corrected the record.
I usually ignore her.
It's the Sergeant at Arms who takes away the President's authority to pardon. Everyone knows that.
Funny enough, I mentioned the Sergeant at Arms earlier this week in a story! https://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner/mike-flynn-not-complying-with-a-congressional-subpoena?utm_term=.exj9Lp9BY#.cmE6Yg6dq …pic.twitter.com/FwdD0Y7uam
"there are no standard rules"...no one alive has been through successful impeachment & conviction so don't think you know how it will work
First, that's about the Senate trial. Second, there are rules, in the form of precedents and procedures, plus the Constitution.
Those rules: http://bit.ly/2rpQcFg NOTE: "impeachment process may be triggered by ... charge from State ... legislature or grand jury"
I feel like The Onion might have done an article on this.http://www.theonion.com/article/area-man-passionate-defender-of-what-he-imagines-c-2849 …
arguably the reading of "except in cases of impeachment" could be interpreted in different ways, and *that* responsibility falls to SCOTUS
but that kind of Constitutional Law wonkery is clearly absent from the rest of the post, so hard to give benefit of doubt to @LouiseMensch
You need to write an Impeachment for Dummies book...take the proceeds and we'll throw a country-wide pizza party when its over.
If he is being impeached (as per the constitution) his pardon powers are removed. Y'all are #LOLSquad. All up to SCOTUS' interpretation.
