The clerks aren't making decisions, to be clear, but I'm saying, there are folks readily available to help the justices at all hours.

As for clerks, some justices regularly have a "counter-clerk" — someone to fight with, basically. Some have a variety of ~types~ of clerks.

But, the justices choose their clerks — they often come from appeals court judges — & they often more or less "fit" w their justice, yeah.
