More importantly, it undermined DOJ's (correct) representations. McGahn is either incompetent, mendacious, or out of the loop.
As always, the WH response to court rulings is making fighting those rulings more difficult, yes.
Wait 'til Civil tells WH there's nothing to appeal because he only enjoined things they aren't doing and DOJ has already said they can't do.

Much as I applaud the decision, I hope Trump doesn't learn that the only thing he CAN do is bomb things. Too tempting.
