Update: Arkansas Supreme Court confirms that the state's reconsideration request in Bruce Ward's case remains pending.
The Arkansas AG's Office earlier put out incorrect information that a corrected stay order was a denial of the reconsideration request.
They have since corrected that, noting that the reconsideration motion remains pending. The court clerk's office confirmed that with me.
In #SCOTUS action: Arkansas inmates seek stays of execution pending disposition of petition for rehearing in Johnson v. Kelley.pic.twitter.com/iqyUHHM0Hm

To be clear, this stay application at #SCOTUS is in addition to the other cases, including the big injunction on appeal at the 8th Circuit.

These are claims seeking a stay of execution pending outcome of McWilliams v. Dunn at #SCOTUS. Claims noted in here:https://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner/arkansas-scheduled-eight-executions?utm_term=.vkjprYOWQm#.mq9br6LQ9l …
These stays are in addition to the stay entered by the Arkansas Supreme Court in Ward's case and the fed'l court injunction as to all.
On the McWilliams-related stay, 3 Ark Sup Ct justices dissented in two written dissents: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/3671894-Davis-Dissent-1.html … /https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/3671895-Davis-Dissent-2.html …
Per a statement from the Arkansas AG's spokesperson, "The Attorney General is considering options as to how to proceed."
So, at the 8th Cir, the plaintiffs filed this status report as to the Arkansas Supreme Court stays: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/3671913-8th-Cir-Plaintiffs-Status-Report.html …pic.twitter.com/FjamhN4LIJ
And, in the state's response, we get an ~idea~ of the state's argument at this point. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/3671914-8th-Cir-State-Status-Report.html …pic.twitter.com/qy1FzpGozs
As to this — "That decision was based on a misinterpretation of fed'l law, and Ark. will seek immed. review." — I'm interested to see where.
Hard to argue that a discretionary stay of execution by the Arkansas Supreme Court isn't based on independent and adeq state grounds.
Assuming so, it can't be appealed to SCOTUS, so state's only option would be a motion for reconsideration.

As to this, as stated earlier, I'm not sure to whom Arkansas can appeal.https://twitter.com/alanblinder/status/854109842524471299 …
OK. So. Apparently the Arkansas AG thinks she can appeal the Arkansas Supreme Court stays to #SCOTUS.https://twitter.com/AGRutledge/status/854097335479144450 …
