I broke down & watched King Cobra tonight. ... And then read EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET about the whole situation, and my god what a mess.

Then I realized: The murder took place during the two years when I wasn't blogging because I was working for the state in Ohio.
-
And, yes, the movie is not great. But I didn't hate it as much as it seems like most people did when it came out.
-
So many historical fiction movies change a lot more than this and are still praised. And, the acting wasn't bad. (Exception = Franco's bf.)
-
It could have been much better, tho, yes. (And there's all the Franco weirdness around sexuality, but I'm not gonna go down that road.)
-
Obvi the film doesn't deserve this many tweets, but I'm just getting caught up on ALL of this story right now, so I have a lot of thoughts.

Here's a 2007 Rolling Stone story about the killing at issue: http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/features/death-of-a-porn-king-20070920 … / &
@kevinokeefe on the movie:https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.mic.com/articles/amp/141171/what-james-franco-s-movie-king-cobra-gets-wrong-about-one-of-gay-porn-s-wildest-stories … -
Oops, I meant
