@anamariecox is that like the Definition of what "IS" is?
I'm not a lawyer but would this be enough for a prosecutor to follow up with a "did you meet to discuss other things"
which I assume would matter since the word he used during confirmation was communicated
i love how they claim to not remember what was discussed but claim they know what wasn't discussed.
Part of the problem is the assumption - by many - that the people involved in this are dumb and/or incapable.
As a campaign official, or at least a surrogate, all conversation is related to the campaign,
"... but if the topic just happened to come up... well then..."
@_cingraham but senator franken didn't ask that, so what difference would it make?
@JamilSmith what nuance am I missing
yeah he's talking motive not denying that a discussion took place
@anamariecox It's the obvious fall-back and defense, but does not adress the actual question he lied about.
Yeah, but that disclaimer doesn't correspond to the Franken question or the Sessions answ during the conf. hearing
So if we look at his day planner it doesn't say "call Russia; discuss election". Carefully crafted language indeed.
I read somewhere (?), one Tell for lying is when you don't use contractions. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman"
similar to "no one on my current staff" worked on the travel ban. Correct. Just Miller leading the charge. Words matter.
