[Although I just RT'ed this late Oscar night, it's from a while ago. I saw Lion and 20th Cent Women well before the Oscars, don't fret.]

LOVING was my favorite movie of 2016
-
(I mean, you're a historian! This doesn't surprise me. I liked it, don't get me wrong. Just thought it could have been more.)
-
Fair! Sometime when it's not as late I'll say more lol. I am sad more people didn't see it
-
I agree with that, yes.
-
I liked the focus on them vs on the courts - it made it a certain kind of movie that worked for me. I can see other takes making sense too
-
As you can imagine, that was part of my issue with it. I saw it right away, though, so it's been a while.

I loved it, but I thought it was too much of a staged play.
-
You mean Fences, I presume?
-
Yeah, my bad.
-
I was just RTing my old tweets about Moonlight, and that just had both. I get that criticism about Fences, it just didn't ...
-
... bother me.

silence was awful
-
But, Garfield is good, they say?
-
those kidnapping movies
-
Lol. "Silence is a single word, just like Taken; you'll like it, trust me!"
-
and Adam Driver was AWFUL. embarrassing almost.
-
Wait, in both movies. Isn't he in another movie right now too?
-
Patterson. That's it. He plays a NJ bus driver. Jarmusch. Supposed to be very good.
-
I used to live two towns over from Patterson. I want to see it.
