That is less $ than she would have spent getting in to D.C. and taking an Acela. Certainly less hassle.
-
Not necessarily true. Also: Why you changed it up to the Acela to make your (likely still inaccurate) point is odd.
-
Driver/car is more comparable to an Acela than an Amtrak cattle car. My point was she got good value for zero hassle.
-
I disagree w pretty much every word of this tweet (but I also don't care). This was UberX. It's not a black car/driver. It's a person's car.
-
Often a mediocre car! There's no restroom; no food; and you're trusting the driver is a good one and not someone awful.
-
Also: The distinction between regional and acela is not nearly as great as you're pretending. Like, the Acela gets packed, too.

that fare is absurdly cheap
-
For UberX?
-
e.g., it's like $60-70 to take a taxi from Manhattan to JFK in the morning. Not sure how that stacks up to VC-subsidized UberX
-
The article says it would cost $1200 in a yellow cab
-
@jduffyrice Yeah, I don't think the fare is surprising. I really just want the other side of the story!

That seems remarkably cheap for such a long ride - was that really the official Uber fare?
-
I would think that's a reasonable UberX fare, but I'm not certain.

Did she accidentally go to the wrong Williamsburg?
-
I know the L train gets too packed but geez, she didn't need to flee the state...
