Substantively, tho, it is clear this is all somewhat of a jumble. The justices spent 2 hours discussing ins & outs of 2 states' legis maps.
There is no doubt of the importance of the matter, but significant time was spent debating the credibility of trial court witness testimony.
I can't imagine a world in which it makes sense to presume the justices are the best positioned to be having such fact-bound debates.
