Would any other Republican who sought the presidential nomination this time have said he is "fine" that #SCOTUS settled marriage equality?
Other than Kasich-ish, I believe not.
Possibly, I agree, Bush and Pataki (he ran this time?) might have said something similar, at least, as to it being settled.
Also, if he thinks that SCOTUS decided gay marriage, why does he not feel the same way about abortion?
Oh, I see you addressed that. I can't read Twitter. I'm going back to eating soup and watching Drag Race reruns.
Donald Trump had a different answer on marriage in January 2016: http://www.foxnews.com/transcript/2016/01/31/ted-cruz-attacks-donald-trump-financial-record-trump-responds/ …pic.twitter.com/0Mb0v9b8IJ
Interestingly, the "they have a long way to go" line appeared in his January marriage answer and his November abortion answer.
He's not very smart about how government works.
he actually is.
oh, ok, I believe you, despite all evidence to the contrary
I actually am a lawyer. I've been one for 17 years. But thanks for playing.
sure. Then you'd understand the nuances. So...
It means worst case scenario Obergefell overturned on originalist grounds and gay marriage has to be legislated.
@chrisgeidner @alissamarie
As it always shld have been. Obergefell was classic example of legislating from the bench

Not torture jurisprudence until it comes up w a meaning that was never there.

Obergefell was badly reasoned, but it didn't have to be. Solid reasons for the outcome exist.
Then it should stand up to originalist jurisprudence.

If Loving was right, so was Obergefell (in its judgment, not its reasoning).
Then so is polygamy provided it's loving.
