Residents filled an auditorium, had signs printed to oppose helping homeless people, stormed the hotel where the homeless are to be housed.

The video — white guys screaming about civil disobedience aimed at stopping people from getting housing — is something else.

Increasingly common in coastal and a even some Midwestern metros. The "screw you, I've got mine" mentality is rampant.

That's true. I've heard of angry protests like this in SF, not so much in NYC. This is the first time I've seen it televised.

Threats of litigation and protest are common, but civil disobedience is a new one.
