A guy came into my timeline, named 2 people as the BRPD officers involved, I researched, determine it was a hoax, told him, he blocked me.

by following up tips with research and ethical reporting?
-
Obviously, which I did. I mean on my timeline. For nonreporters, when they click on my tweet they see his response.
-
@HunnerWoof Which, that was the start of this thread, that I found out it was a hoax. The secondary question is about ... -
... how ~others~ who see it as a response handle it. They might not do research. I can't report easily bc ...
-
... he blocked me as soon as he figured out that I figured out his "game."
-
faved that because you caught him, not cuz he blocked you

Most of us can figure out that something isn't credible or needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Clearly true in this case.
-
Yet, it has 4 RTs right now, likely bc of how it's phrased and bc it's a reply worded earnestly to a verified account.
-
I think you've looked into it, batted it down and there isn't much more you can do. Not your fault people continue past that.
