ACLU urges no on Collins amendment, saying it does NOT provide appropriate due process protections:pic.twitter.com/UhUshcZfzh
ACLU also argues that the Collins amendment could create an even broader watchlist: https://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner/aclu-opposes-latest-effort-to-bar-those-on-terrorism-watch-l?utm_term=.htXrDE2JOk#.swXYrgN324 …pic.twitter.com/fs6PfvDNkC
Did the ACLU take a position on Cornyn's bill?
(You should read the letter: Yes.)
I should but I'm lazy
@StephenGutowski @BuzzFeedNews Or is there NO Due Process in the U.S. anymore?
Seems ACLU opposed Cornyn Amendment simply b/c they oppose any predicate "list", but conceding the gun part does provide dp.
@ggreenwald @BuzzFeedNews Then fix the damned list.
Does anyone know if even one of the Congress folk in the sit-in cared to propose this?
They are sitting to get the "Charleston" amendment brought to floor to get rid of 1/
the 3-day waiting period exception that allowed Charelston shooter to get gun.2/
@ggreenwald @BuzzFeedNews @ACLU Thank goodness for the ACLU-- who fight the good fight against govt over-reach. #Democrats
@ggreenwald @BuzzFeedNews Didn't they also endorse Hillary?
