So, here we are. It was, as I imagined, a day I couldn't have imagined until it happened. And then, before it really hit me, it happened.
It was a tremendous opportunity, a great honor, and, I felt, a very real responsibility. I love what I do because I think it matters.
I think journalism matters. I cover topics that need to be covered well, issues that need to be explored, stories that need to be told.
I am forever grateful to BuzzFeed and, before it, Metro Weekly for paying me to do so, for allowing me to create this amazing career I have.
Now, I'm off to bed, grateful for this day—and looking forward to the next. Thanks, so much, for all of the support today. It meant so much.
I and my phone were literally overwhelmed with the response today. I could only check Twitter from my laptop; it kept crashing on my phone!
Night for now, all, and let us be good to one another.
