@chrisgeidner If we assume the FBI is technically competent, it sounds like they didn't want to be able to access the phone's data unaided.
@tomsj @chrisgeidner Pretty sure Hanlon's razor applies in this instance: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanlon%27s_razor …
@tomsj @chrisgeidner Too smart to accidentally screw up access, but too dumb to realize that they would be found out? Seems unlikely…
@n8inSLC @chrisgeidner Maybe not so unlikely.https://twitter.com/panzer/status/701305637385302016 …
@tomsj @chrisgeidner Touche...
@n8inSLC @tomsj The BuzzFeed story was updated with that information on Saturday night, FYI:http://www.buzzfeed.com/johnpaczkowski/apple-terrorists-appleid-passcode-changed-in-government-cust#.udoGjveK7E …
@chrisgeidner So, basically this is turning into a giant quagmire with the Feds looking terrible? @JohnPaczkowski
@chrisgeidner @whpresscorps Probably only work related stuff on that phone. He got rid of the phone with the incriminating evidence.
@chrisgeidner ..so whose got the password?
@kingchristoph63 the password is to the iCloud account, and they've already searched that. But it can't execute an auto back up now.
@chrisgeidner "Yes ma'am, we've reset the password. Just let us know when you get it at the account's email address"
"...email?"
"...jfc"
