Really, what a week. So so grateful to be working at @BuzzFeedNews, with all of the incredible people at @BuzzFeed. People doing amazing ...
I had no clue, when @brianstelter wrote — four years ago this Saturday — that @BuzzFeedBen was being hired by @peretti, what it would mean.

“I was totally bit by the bug of how exciting this was," Ben said in that article, which surprised many of us.http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/12/12/buzzfeed-adds-politico-writer/?_r=0 …

When Ben approached me about joining BuzzFeed in June, I came back at him with a list of questions! I was cautious; he answered them all.

In July, when
@dcbigjohn and I started the DC bureau — a chief and the LGBT reporter — Ben said we ~might~ end up w 4 or 5 colleagues in DC. -
Last night, we had our own holiday party for
#BuzzFeedDC, John got us our own shirts made, and we had the ~20 of us who are now in DC there. -
The changes to BuzzFeed have been even more dramatic elsewhere, and it's honestly hard to keep up with all that's going on here now.
-
But it's been an incredible ride, w so many incredible people, who amaze me every day. So many friends who are also co-workers who I admire.
-
As we approach the year-end lists time, it helps me sort of get a wide-angle lens view of all we've been doing — but it also excites me.
-
I can't wait to see — but am smart enough at this point not to pretend I can even imagine — what this team will have accomplished in a year.
-
I know we're too big to see ea other often anymore, but, truly, this is my thanks to everyone at BuzzFeed for the joy & pride you bring me.
-
Gah! The problem w/ how big BuzzFeed is now: I forgot to mention a whole group of my faves! Entertainment! I love you all!
Srsly, so good! -
I'm a mess, I know.
But, so it goes. That's another reason to love being at BuzzFeed. It ~still~ truly encourages us to be who we are. -
More seriously: I've not had much time (bc, working!) to read many of our
#MHW2015 posts, but it truly is fantastic to know we're doing it. -
Learning to take care of my mental health has been a process that's taken since I was 19 or 20 — and I'm still learning 18+ years later.
-
It's amazing to me that I work at a place that is working hard to remove stigma — stigma that I still carry with me. Truly important work.
-
So, yeah, great co-workers; great job; and friends, family and a life for which I am truly grateful. I'll take it.
-
Night, all, and let us be good to one another.
