Rep. Cicilline does not appear to have been briefed yet on last week's EEOC ruling on Title VII & sexual orientation discrimination yet.

@chrisgeidner Why do HRC and others seem to think this necessary? And some argue for amending the Civil Rights Act. Any legit fears? -
@MSLUnlimited Even EEOC commissioner Chai Feldblum says explicit so/gi protections are still advisable. -
@MSLUnlimited Also: The EEOC rulings are only about employment. This is many areas. -
@chrisgeidner Thanks. That makes sense. I guess future administrations could also defang EEOC if they tried hard enough.

@chrisgeidner@RepCicilline But until the courts get a hold of it, don't the concerns still remain valid? -
@Hoosier2012@RepCicilline The concerns do, but saying that you "can be fired" ignores the protections the EEOC can provide. -
@chrisgeidner Until someone decides to take on the EEOC? Might meet more success in some circuits than others? Just a thought, not sure. -
@Hoosier2012 Yes, courts' interp issue will move forward. Additionally, tho, the EEOC takes complaints daily. Many resolved pre-litigation. -
@chrisgeidner Fair point.
