@chrisgeidner The experience of being a wire reporter is having your work ripped off constantly. You aren't even allowed to complain. -
@chrisgeidner People would lift text directly, or just pretend like our story never existed. Bosses would just say "that's life, move on." -
@chrisgeidner One paper went back and restaged a photo our guy shot, used it to win a major prize. Couldn't say shit. They were a "member." -
@chrisgeidner Meanwhile, and can't speak for everyone, I cited other outlets' beats and contribs religiously, to a point I sometimes regret. -
@chrisgeidner I'm not saying that example wasn't shady. And I wouldn't be surprised if they're worse about it with BF than a "legacy" pub.
