Y'all, still trying to handle SAINT LAURENT. Gaspard Ulliel is so incredible. Valade, Garrel, Seydoux, & Renier are, at moments, fantastic.

Yes, the film is long, but I don't think I'd cut more than 15-20 mins. A few scenes didn't add much, IMHO, tho Bonello would likely differ.

The scene is captured so perfectly in parts that I was happy he was given space. Cutting an hour, as some suggest, would've been a tragedy.

And, Ulliel is something else. I remembered him from Strayed — a 2003 Téchiné film! Incredible. He could be the French Redmayne, yes?

I would watch the scene of Gaspard Ulliel and Louis Garrel cruising each other from across the club on a loop for days. Perfection.

In short, it's a beautiful film in so many ways. Not perfect, no, but showing incredible artistry, performances, & understanding of its aim.
