@chrisgeidner - misleading clickbait tweet @BuzzFeed since SCOTUS won't rule on this till end of term, not now. Only hearing arguments 2day

@JimBrownBT@BuzzFeed I've been writing the same sort of headlines out of oral arguments for years. It is accurate. Sorry! Don't hate! -
@chrisgeidner but they aren't ruling right now, at this moment, right? -
@JimBrownBT "Appears Ready To Rule" =/= "Ruling Right Now"

@chrisgeidner@ActuallyEmerson Heavy emphasis on "appears". This headline is attention seeking. -
@gregmclark "Appears" seems based on the observation of arguments and questioning. Are the headlines that aren't attention seeking? -
@ActuallyEmerson the article makes you want to believe they'll have a decision tomorrow or next week which highly unlikely, more like June. -
@gregmclark the last line: "A decision in the cases is expected by the end of the court’s term in June." I don't get your frustration here. -
@ActuallyEmerson I'm frustrated at the headline bc it makes the reader believe the decision will be sooner rather than later. -
@gregmclark ...okay. I guess if the reader has no basic knowledge of how the Supreme Court works. Which is on the reader. -
@ActuallyEmerson tbh, I believe most people don't know how it works unfortunately. -
@gregmclark well, let's assume if they can start reading the article, they are capable of finishing it, where the question is answered.

@chrisgeidner@BuzzFeedLGBT Who says SCOTUS appears ready to rule favorably. Mainstream media reports justices 'seem deeply divided.' -
@chrismmacneil
@chrisgeidner@BuzzFeedLGBT mainstream media always reports that way.
