Notably, the latest-in-the-day stay request order on these marriage cases that I can recall was Florida, and it was before 7p on 12/19/14.

In the Texas voter ID case, as
@rickhasen@espinsegall & I discussed earlier, SCOTUS issue an early Sat morning order before Monday voting. -
There was a dissent to the decision, which was why the decision did not come out on Friday. More here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner/texas-voter-id-law-will-be-in-effect-this-election-supreme-c …

So, there could be a Sat order. At this point, tho, bc Alabama is Central Time, I'm thinking we're most likely to get the decision Mon morn.
-
If no SCOTUS order comes, Granade's stay is slated to end on Monday, meaning probate judges could start granting same-sex marriages then.
-
While that clearly is Judge Granade's intent, AL Chief Justice Moore has said probate judges don't need to do so, advice some have taken up.

@chrisgeidner@JoeMyGod I wonder if they are sitting on it and allowing marriage to begin Monday then causally deny the request? -
@Caseyscameron@JoeMyGod I don't think there's any real logic to that. The Supreme Court can't "casually" do anything.
