@chrisgeidner@radleybalko Quite simply, we do not have the info to draw the conclusions that Balko would like so very much to be true. -
@gabrielmalor@chrisgeidner It's fairly well established that the police were conducting warrantless, door-to-door house searches. -
@radleybalko I'm pretty sure they were legal. Isn't there an exception for those type of circs? -
@TonyBiasotti Yes, they were likely legal. But they can be legal and still be an overreaction/bad policy. And a troubling precedent. -
@radleybalko wonder what would've happened if somebody said, "come in, dude's not here, but I have a lot of weed." -
@TonyBiasotti If they find evidence of a crime in plain view, it's admissible. Even if the justification for warrantless entry was unrelated -
@radleybalko sure, I'm just curious what the practical outcome would've been.

@chrisgeidner@radleybalko Do we know there was no PC for stop? No, we do not. -
@gabrielmalor what "stop"? This is a house search w/o warrant. Different standard.@chrisgeidner@radleybalko

@chrisgeidner@radleybalko Do we know there was no warrant? Do we know they weren't the folks arrested during hunt yesterday? No, we don't. -
@gabrielmalor Regardless of when filmed, the police don't appear to show a warrant to anyone in the video, no?@chrisgeidner@radleybalko
