@JakeReif Bc states define marriage. Hence, why it's a question of whether fed govt recognizes marriages, not whether they *are* marriages.
@JakeReif I cannot "dismiss" you when I've engaged you for an extended period of time. You've made no point, let alone a logical one.

@chrisgeidner not some abstract notion of what is "logical". Logic is objective, and your argument is logically flawed. That's all there is. -
@JakeReif There is no logic to your argument that a Georgia journalist should just ignore DC law when writing about a DC couple. -
@chrisgeidner That was not what I said. A Ga. journo could (and should!) use the DC definition. But he could also logically use Ga's. -
@JakeReif Not when describing a DC married couple. -
@chrisgeidner If Georgia's own law can deem a DC married couple not "married", why can a journalist not do so? He shouldn't, but he could. -
@JakeReif That is Georgia's decision whether to legally recognize their marriage. It does not change whether or not they *are* married. -
@chrisgeidner It absolutely does. That's what recognition means. DC says yes, married. Ga says no, not. AP says... (what they decide) -
@JakeReif Go find Jeffrey Bloom, and you and he can have a good evening. The rest of us think you're absolutely incorrect. - 2 more replies

@chrisgeidner Of course I have, you just keep "dismissing" them as "illogical" bc you say so. I'm just basing this on formal logical rules,Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
