I don't appreciate that Oscar noms come out this week and Zero Dark Thirty still isn't playing in DC this weekend. Grrr.
@jamisonfoser Maybe a good market for sales, but if they wanted to avoid mixing (only sorta successfully) the politics of the film w noms?

@chrisgeidner Maybe. But they haven’t exactly kept it under wraps. They just ensured the torture debate began before public saw it. -
@jamisonfoser Yeah, film/awards strategy obviously not in any way my area of knowledge, but the timing def seems intentional. -
@chrisgeidner agree all around. possible it’s just something mundane like waiting ’til Lincoln’s been out for a while to avoid competing -
@jamisonfoser True. ... The Lincoln DC release is another criticism I have. Since you mention it. It showed on far too few screens here! -
@chrisgeidner@jamisonfoser I tried to see it in the limited-release window, and saw it playing only … in Bethesda. On one screen. WTH? -
@ggreeneva@chrisgeidner Hadn’t noticed that - but I only reluctantly saw it last night. G’town showing was nearly full, tho smaller theater
