Do you see this as helpful to Bloomberg? I'm not sure he wants to get into the rough and tumble of debate with the others. This seems like the DNC forcing him to actually join the campaign with the others more than doing him a favor.

I lean to Sasha's side here: if he's doing well enough in polls or actual results to pass this test, then he's serious enough that his opponents, and the press, should be able to challenge him. To explain my reasoning: The point is not whether it ultimately helps him. The point is that he’s able to do it. He needs to be on the debate stage to be seen as a real competitor — and get beyond the support he’s able to get by ads alone. ... It’s necessary but not sufficient.
