Thanks #lawdork friends for noting that, even at trial, a person is found "not guilty" — not innocent.
1. I was honestly surprised that all of the justices showed up. 2. I wonder if any regret having done so now.
In any event, the Supreme Court is back in session tomorrow with nine justices on the bench — and Chief Justice John Roberts gets to decide what to do with his court.https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/chrisgeidner/chief-justice-john-roberts-supreme-court-kavanaugh …
The key part from Justice Kavanaugh’s speech at the White House tonight — less than two weeks after his hyperpartisan performance before the Senate Judiciary Committee, two days after he was confirmed and sworn in, and on the eve of his first arguments as a Supreme Court justice:pic.twitter.com/MP1fSIqtGC
Would appear that Kavanaugh stuck around after or posed beforehand for photos. Here’s Mercedes and Matt Schlapp (she’s a senior White House communications staffer, he’s the chair of the CPAC-sponsoring ACU):https://twitter.com/mschlapp/status/1049473106887229440?s=21 …
Nor do trials prove innocence!
Only in expungement proceedings, I believe, are people “proven innocent.”
And trials do not establish innocence. They establish that the proof did not go beyond a reasonable doubt.

Even in a trial the defendant is not proven innocent.
Moreover, not guilty does not equal innocent.
And not investigated.
One cannot be "proven innocent," that means that YOU cannot be "proven innocent," either. Many of us do understand what President Trump means, when he misspeaks.
