Only one Supreme Court nominee was confirmed on a closer vote. That vote was in 1881.https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/chrisgeidner/kavanaugh-vote-supreme-court-historic …

Jo Macellaro, who came down on a bus from New York City early this morning to protest the Kavanaugh vote, told me that she’ll be leaving DC when they let her out of jail. She had not yet been arrested.pic.twitter.com/Xz5ecnxh3j

Just saw this, but wanted to point out: This is a wildly obvious lie from the president, as the photos and video from earlier up in this thread shows.pic.twitter.com/XVBbUC5v13

It didn’t matter. What the majority wants doesn’t matter. No one should ever be disillusioned that US is a democracy. Our highest court now has 4 Justices that were appointed by Presidents who lost the popular vote. & this was confirmed by senators who rep less than half the pop.
-
And still, people don’t vote.
-
Although we all have to vote, unless gerrymandering and electoral college Shit gets straightened out- it’s going to be the same.
-
We have always been ruled by the few, by design, by force, by coercion, manipulation and deception. The few teach fear of "mob rule" to legitimize the stripping of power and voice from the many.
-
Well, then, is this you finally reaching acceptance? Or shall we fight? Be strategic? Commit ourselves to our majority’s triumph over the Kochs and their toys? I’d like to see them pay for what they’ve done. And we have fellow citizens to protect. No time for despair.
-
It's not despair, nor acceptance, just a statement of the problem. I am doing what I can, I voted in the last election, primaries & will vote next month. I think we need to be prepared to fight *after* the election too. They will not give up easily, even if a blue wave happens.
-
That’s so right. It’s a republic if WE can keep it. There’s a lot wrong here, but our persistence can maybe, maybe right it. We never give up on our countrymen - or the rest of our fellows on this planet.

To be fair, I'm guessing most of the Supreme Court wants nothing to do with Brett.
-
Can you imagine what Ginsburg has been muttering to Kagan and Sotomayor?
-
I wish they never had to be in the same building as him.
