I’ve been thinking a lot about all of the people who have spent years or even decades in prison but then are released because their lawyers have been able to show their clients were wrongly convicted and are actually innocent.

Chris, I’ve worked to free several of these people in MT. One thing that strikes me is, when they are released and proven innocent, they’re given exactly nothing from the State... and, in my experience, they expect nothing. The difference in expectations is striking.

Do you honestly think those people were never angry? That they never yelled or lashed out at the injustice inflicted on them? Especially when the injustice first happened, when they were being railroaded and couldn’t do anything? Just bcuz you didnt see it, it didn’t happen?
