It’s very disappointing that Feinstein leaked this so late and compressed the process, but that’s where we are.

In order to compress the process, there’d have to be a fixed end point for it, a deadline. There is no such thing. Scalia’s seat was held open more than a year. There is no justification for rushing this.

You will be surprised to learn that the Court functioned with only 8 justices for more than a year while McConnell refused to hold any hearing whatsoever for Merrick Garland. They can do it again for a few weeks or months while we vet Kavanaugh.
