The full quote, which MSNBC did not include, reveals that Kavanaugh was making a joke about three "really, really good friends of mine" who graduated from Columbus School of Law, where he was giving the speech.

"It show's a mindset." Mmkay, it shows a guy who doesn't seem particularly good at speeches making a dad joke that the audience laughs at. No harm in showing the full context. And implying that it's nefarious ABSENT that context is...well, it show's a mindset too.

"we did things in high school that we don't want to talk about now because it would be embarassing/damaging" is the whole joke
-
Yeah, I'm not quite sure I've ever heard "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" referred to as a "dad joke" until today.

Man, if only the unnamed dean hadn't prompted Kavanaugh to do this joke. What a world that would be.

Same mindset in a quote he put on his high school yearbook page addressed specifically to the guy who was allegedly with him on the night in question.pic.twitter.com/sxZDhXABXJ
