Christine Blasey Ford courageously stepped forward to tell her story — it is a credible and serious allegation. The Senate has a constitutional responsibility to scrutinize SCOTUS nominees. A vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination must be delayed until there is a thorough investigation.

I asked the Judiciary Committee spokesperson for Grassley twice today — once before his post-Post story statement and once in response to it — whether he planned to give Ford the opportunity to testify. He has not yet answered that question.

In addition to Feinstein, only three other senators remain on the committee now who were there with her in '93: Sen. Grassley, Hatch, and Leahy. All three men have been chair of the committee at points in that time since.

@SenatorCollins always chooses to make the unethical decision in the end. Every.Single.T.I.M.E. She doesn’t care about R v W. If she votes for Kavanaugh there is no question that she’s a misogynist.

One thing the GOP is probably considering: Ted Cruz is in a no-win situation if this comes before the entire Senate. It has to die in the judiciary committee, or at least be delayed until after the election.

They won't lose the Senate this year, but no matter how Cruz votes, he'll be pissing off a lot of people. His lead is too thin to deal with that shit right now.
