Andrew Miller, who has been held in contempt of court for his failure to appear before the Mueller grand jury, is appealing the contempt order. The merits brief by Miller's lawyer was initially set to be due 9/7. Miller's lawyer asked for and was granted an extension to 9/10.

Indeed. Seems odd instead of allowing 1,500 extra words, they instead spent time reading & ruling on whether the brief would be extraordinarily compelling. Grassley, in the Kavanaugh hearing, was right that allowing flexibility often saves time over arguing process
