Kennedy has moved on to talking about Chevron deference.

So, it sure sounds like the reason why that line of questioning didn't go any further tonight is that they couldn't take it any further, or at least weren't ready to do so.

I wrote up what we know about that Harris-Kavanaugh exchange, and then started a new thread to talk about about what I think was so weird about it beyond what we know. Check it out here —>https://twitter.com/chrisgeidner/status/1037565626737405953 …

Kavanaugh’s reaction alone raises suspicions. Evasive, appears to be deliberately misunderstanding.
-
Plus he stuttered.

And scratched his face twice. Sure tells.

If true, he cannot be confirmed. A president under federal investigation for treason should not be appointing judges in the first place, but certainly not when that judge is chatting with that president's lawyers.

His twitchy response only bolsters that suspicion. If I were on a jury and I saw that exchange, I would be convinced that something untoward happened — he was as uncomfortable as a testicle caught in a zipper.

I feel silly for asking but why is it an issue if he did speak to someone? I assume bc it would imply bias. Or something else?
-
It's a well set trap. If he admits now in the hearing he did, he potentially conflicts himself out of any future hearing.

I'm finding Kavanaugh's answers to several questions oddly transparent in an opaque sort of way! The roundabout, doublespeak way in which he answers or does not provide answers is very telling.

Kavanaugh’s insistence on not giving a definitive answer is telling.

Good!! You could tell Kavanaugh was being extremely evasive...why? And why are they withholding most of his records..something smells fishy

IT WAS A SIMPLE QUESTION HE SHOULD HAVE ANSWERED! I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE HIM IF YOU FIND OUT HE HAD A CONVO WITH TRUMP LAWYER!

I was pretty sure she had some reason to believe he'd had a converation with somebody at that firm. Kamala won't give this up.
