So obviously I’ve already lost an AirPod (in a manner where I helplessly watched and listened to it fall out of my grasp, a la the classic children’s board game, Mouse Trap), and it’s weird because they’re not THAT great, yet here I am buying a replacement AirPod

Traveling is wildly easier. Getting up during the day to refill a water bottle or whatever, better. Not literally being attached to your phone, better.

Maybe that’s the magic: They’re earphones that are more a part of you than the things they’re “connected” to — yet seamlessly connected to it.

... and the (near) seamless transfer between my ears and listening to it on my home speakers is a real thing that allows me to keep the relaxation I'm getting on the walk home to stay with me once I walk in the door. (Or something like that.)
