Why do you assume he’s not sincere? I never for a moment thought he’s not representing his actual views. This isn’t an act.

I mean “he was nice to me...?” The writing and the decisions were all public? That’s part of who he is.

I am not sure what you're talking about at this point. I didn't say I have my views because he was nice to me, so don't act like that's what I said. What "writing" and "decisions" are you talking about?

I do apologize for that. Here’s what I meant about his decision and writing was all public: publishing the Bell Curve. Defending it to this day. He’s had multiple other times he’s written in a racist way about topics. People have talked about how he ran TNR and race.

Yes. I know, I know, I know. And I was a 17-year-old white, closeted gay kid in Youngstown, Ohio, when he published it. When I came out, he was one of the most prominent people writing about gay issues in a voice that I understood.

He and Evan Wolfson were writing and talking about marriage when others were afraid to say the word. I was in DC when DOMA was passed. Andrew's work on marriage was important.

he declared millions of americans traitors. no matter how good he was on marriage doesn't make up for his promotion of racist pseudoscience and his years of smears against honest people.

And I have no defense to that, nor would I. That's my point.

but on your thread youre calling it... a "blind spot."

A "blind spot" is an inability to see something as it is, as I understand it. I also responded the other place you said this.

Ummm being overtly racist isn't a 'blind spot'
