For a long time, I thought I had to do everything perfectly. That just left me more upset with myself — and in a much worse place than when I started. Now, I try my best. I try to make progress each day, knowing that no days will result in perfection.

If you can't get out of bed, at least scoot to the side of the bed and put one foot on the floor. Don't pick it back up again, that 1 foot on the floor is your first step in being able to get up. And when you go back to bed, slide over and put one foot on the floor.
