In advance of Wednesday morning's conference in Michael Cohen's search warrant-related matter, the special master submitted a report earlier today updating where her review stands: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4488010-Cohen-v-USA-Special-Master-Report-052918.html …pic.twitter.com/guuDLV7DXK

In terms of process: Lawyers for Cohen, Trump, and the Trump Org are designating documents as privileged or containing "highly personal" information. Any seized materials not designated as containing one of those will be released to the government.pic.twitter.com/7AzHQVfaxb

Then, the special master, Barbara Jones (a retired judge back in private practice), will decide — based on possible submissions to her (and not the other side) — what to recommend to Judge Kimba Wood.pic.twitter.com/5dtqeuRP1e

US Atty's Office already received nearly 300,000 items from phones and iPads—and they're set to get more than 1 million items from three of the seized phones on Wednesday. These are items the Cohen, Trump, & the Trump Org did not flag; Jones then gives "final verification."pic.twitter.com/E1wZHFyCUq

If relevant, why would “highly personal” documents be withheld? Not aware there is a privilege with that designation.

I’m assuming highly personal designations are subject to a responsiveness decision by the special master.

Umm... while I would consider anything related to sex with a porn star as highly personal, I sure hope that's not the legal standard.

It is probable those “highly personal and privileged documents” contain evidence of criminal activity - so even in that case, the Special Master would withhold such evidence from the government? Sounds strange

It wouldn’t accomplish anything besides maybe pissing off the special master.
